  2. Working from home can make it extremely difficult to concentrate on work. A virtual team building game will bring your team together and it will encourage employees to learn to work together more effectively and help remind them of their working goals. Remind people that we are in this together and we are still a great team.

  3. The article is accurate. But in my opinion, virtual working has more disadvantages than advantages. The main reason to say so, is the isolation and lack of human interactions. It is true that people can collaborate via remote working apps like teams etc. But it is not the same as physical interactions. However there are advantages also. This will save time and resources of the company. This will unlock any regional differences, so the company can avail the use of international employees.

But ultimately, the productivity might not be optimal as that of a physical work environment.

  4. In a post-pandemic world, many organizations are analyzing remote work culture as a stable option. The employees can save vital travel time while the organizations can cut down high real-estate costs. If the actions are well-coordinated, it can be a win-win for both parties. Team-building practices can help organizations to adjust their workforce during this unprepared work transformation period. It is known to be more efficient when it is intentional and has confidence as it transforms cultural and physical restrictions. It also allows employees to share without common corporate hierarchies and across different geographical limits.

  6. Good article Isuru. There is no common concept of a virtual team, nor is there a clear cutoff point at which a conventional team becomes virtual. Since virtuality has various dimensions, teams may be classified as more virtual or less virtual, similar or further apart from conventional ones. Virtual teams, according to Zigurs (2003), are “collection of individuals who are geographically, organizationally, or otherwise scattered and who collaborate through communication and information technologies in order to accomplish a specific goal.” Zaccaro and Bader (2003) support the previous concept by stating that virtual teams have two members.
    1. “Teams may work in different locations but at different times, or they may work in the same room but at different times.”
    2. “Most, if not all, team member interactions take place through electronic communication channels.”

  7. The fundamental challenges of leading virtual teams are lack of fostering team unity when employees work apart that teams working in separate locations experience lower levels of trust and higher levels of conflict than employees working together. Many remote working issues stem from communication hurdles.
